Basic CEUS Training 101
September 10, 2016
Rush University Medical Center, Tower Procedure Lab, Chicago, IL USA
Please join the conversation as the global collaborators and experts in the field of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS).meet in Chicago again this year. This is a unique forum for the CEUS community to network, collaborate and discover solutions to common challenges in the specialties.
Since the very first Bubble Conference sessions were held in a small conference room in 1985, this extraordinary international meeting has consistently featured the most compelling scientific and clinical work in the CEUS field, along with opportunities to test new ideas, forge new scientific relationships and drive the field forward. Whether you are a clinical practitioner, as research professional or a member of industry, you will not want to miss this year's 31st Annual Bubble Conference.
The meetings take on added significance with unprecedented interest in avoiding unnecessary exposure to radiation-based medical imaging, reducing overall healthcare costs and improving healthcare quality for patients. The Bubble Conference features timely updates on safe non-invasive, cost-effective, radiation-free CEUS imaging of organ systems and tumors throughout the body. Additional sessions will offer regulatory and accreditation updates along with breaking scientific developments in the use of contrast agents to enhance targeted delivery of genes and drug therapies.
VENUES and SCHEDULES:
This year's Bubble Conference main sessions will be held south of the Chicago River across from the lakefront, the rolling parks and museum campus, at the historic and elegant Blackstone Hotel on Michigan Avenue (The "Magnificent Mile"), Chicago. Saturdays training sessions will be held at the Rush University campus in the new Tower Procedure Labs.
BUBBLE CONFERENCE at the Blackstone Hotel:
Thursday, September 8 (all day), expert presentations & lively discussion in the Blackstone Hotel.
Friday, September 9 (morning), expert presentations and lively discussion in the Blackstone Hotel.
BASIC CEUS TRAINING at Rush University:
Saturday, September 10 (approximately 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.) at Rush University Medical Center. Live patient cases using the latest CEUS imaging machines and contrast agents will be video streamed from the Procedures Lab in the new Tower building into a meeting room, on Rush's Chicago campus. Bus transportation for registered attendees will be provided. Also planning to offer an Exhibitor's Fair showcasing the CEUS machines and contrast agents of the event's industry partners during the buffet lunch at noon.
LIVE WEB CONFERENCE interactive online option:
Cant make it to Chicago this time? If you are not able to attend in person, you have the option now to be "in the room" through the live video conference available through our Livemedia partners. Go to www.livemedia.com to register and attend online.

31 Years of Bubble Conference
The annual Bubble Conference in Chicago is the single-most important global forum for cross-specialty CEUS research and practice. Bubble Conference faculty members include the world's foremost clinicians, physiologists, engineers, and other scientists working in the fields of cardiology, radiology, vascular medicine, gynecology, gastroenterology, and other body imaging sub-specialties. Participants include physicians, scientists, nurses, sonographers, technicians and related paramedical professionals from North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Presenters address clinical safety and expanding applications of diagnostic CEUS, along with promising investigational and clinical applications of therapeutic CEUS for targeted delivery of genes and drugs to organ systems and tumors. All sessions are highly interactive, promoting lively discussions in an open, challenging, collegial atmosphere. As a result, Bubble Conference consistently spark new innovations that help energize the CEUS fields, with the ultimate goal of improving patient care and saving lives.
Diagnostic CEUS uses injectable "microbubble" contrast agents to improve the quality of ultrasound images. Non-invasive CEUS imaging is performed without radiation of dye. It has a superior safety profile, is cheaper than alternative imaging options, and often provides diagnostic accuracy and changes to medical outcomes. In some patients, CEUS reduces misdiagnoses and missed diagnoses, and avoids unnecessary additional testing that would increase risks, costs and inconvenience. At present, ultrasound contrast agents are FDA approved in the US for cardiac imaging only, but they are also used safely and effectively to improve ultrasound images of other organ systems in medical centers throughout Europe, Japan, China, Israel, Canada and South America. In addition, newer therapeutic CEUS research and clinical studies demonstrate the potential for using ultrasound contrast agents to deliver genes and drugs to organ systems and tumors.
